Plintron helps Correios track their vehicles seamlessly

The Need

Correios – the Brazilian Postal Department, handling logistics and postal services in Brazil wanted a solution to connect their fleet vehicles and track their location real-time. The aim was to improve the efficiency of the vehicles and improve the on-time performance of the chain. Correios has a fleet size of over 16000 vehicles. They chose to use Plintron’s IoT connectivity and solution–given Plintron’s deep experience in IoT, its existing tieup with a Tier-1 telecom operator in Brazil (through its local partner) and its long standing success in Brazil.

The Challenge

Correios required the tracking to be real time and responsive, while being a cost effective, highly scalable solution.

The Solution

Plintron’s Cloud Communications-As-A-Service was the ideal solution. Plintron’s cloud hosted model ensured that the IoT solution went live for Correios immediately. Further Correios benefited from Plintron’s existing wholesale contract with a Brazilian Tier-1 telecom operator (through its local partner Surf Telecom) –and hence did not have to negotiate its own commercial contract independently.

Plintron also offered mobile numbers and SIM cards as part of its solution.
